Baby Name

If you haven't noticed already, we do have a name picked out.

It is Savannah Noelle!! Savannah was my great-grandmother's name (on my mom's side). It also happens to be the only name that DF and I could agree on. :-) I will not begin to tell you all the names he liked, which were too "throwback" for me.

On the storyboard of her nursery, I have Savanna, instead of Savannah. I went back and forth on the spelling and pronunciation. You know, you say Savannah and I say Savanna (sa vaugh na) and decided to use the traditional way. With a little "Mini-Me" on the way, she will be anything but traditional or conventional! Like her dad says, "just like her mom"! He does not have a clue what he is in for, but then again, he does! :-)

Well, sleep is a precious commodity nowadays and I am very tired! I will chat with you all later.

Nursery Update, Part 2

The nursery is starting to take shape. We have all of the walls painted and baseboard trims. The furniture will be arriving tomorrow, December 29th. However, we need to have the carpets cleaned before we assemble and positioned the furniture. I have a few more things to purchase, which I will have this weekend. It looks like I will be spending my New Year's Eve decorating! It's no biggie...since I am a "biggie" and do not want to go any where...outside of church.

At any rate, here are the pictures. Oh...by the way, I saw the chair at Marshall's on Saturday and hesitated before deciding to purchase. Wouldn't you know it that someone bought the last two when I went back!!! Needless to say, I called almost every Marshall's and Home Goods in Atlanta before finding the chair. This goes perfect with the rest of Savannah's decor.

Nursery - Start

My sister and I started the baby nursery last night. DF and I had some guys coming to paint the nursery, but they wanted too much $$ to paint a 12x14 room. So, being the impatient person that I am, Chelle helped me paint. Do not be worried...I had the room well ventilated and I took breaks to get some fresh air.

I have to admit, I do not like pink or purple. However, once I found the damask table runner that was my inspiration, my views started to change...a little. And really...how long will that last, being that all clothes for little girls are either pink or purple. *gasp*

The paint color is Naturally Calm by Behr Paint.

Here is the room before (excuse my nephew in the photo - he likes to be seen).

Countdown....

33 Weeks....and 7 more to go!

Well, I am on the down stretch. Everyone keep asking me if I am anxious, I am but not really. I do not want her to come before 40 weeks! I need more time! After 18 years, I am excited, but a bit scared as well. Oftentimes, I have to ask myself...."what were you thinking"? However, I love my fiance and want to give him the greatest gift.

Last Saturday, I was given a baby shower by my friends and family. It was great! As you know, I am a control freak and as I do event planning, I wanted to be involved. I know I worked their nerves the last 4 days, but everything turned out perfectly.

Here are a few pictures.

Now I am getting ready to start the nursery. We will be painting tonight. I will post some pictures as I progress.

Here is my inspiration. Everyone states that it is too sophisicated...but that is me, very unconventional...or as my family like to call me..a DIVA! I guess I yam what I yam! :-)

Long Time.....I Know...

WOW - It has been a very long time since I updated my blog. I am not sure where to start to catch you up.
Well....let just jump right in....

I am engaged and pregnant...8 months to be exact! I am due on February 5th, 2010! I am having a little Princess! Everyone is ecstatic, though my 18 year old son had to warm up to the idea!
:-) He is all excited about his little sister, now! Yep..I did say 18...what an age difference!!

This will be like starting anew for me! I have been reading so much as a lot has changed within 18 years. My fiance is a GREAT MAN and I could not have asked for any one more understanding, caring, considerate, and generous. This will be his first, so he is excited and a bit scared! I think he will do great, but signed him up for a Newborn Baby Care class anyway! :-)
I promise to write soon as I have a lot to catch up on. My Baby Shower is this weekend.
